Missions at Hillcrest Baptist Church

At Hillcrest Baptist Church, we are dedicated to following Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19-20 by sharing the Gospel with those in our community, nation, and internationally.

Ways to Share Christ

  • Monthly Collection (November Packing Party)

Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's Purse, has delivered 157 million shoeboxes to boys and girls around the world. We praise God for so many children whose lives have been transformed because of a simple gift.

Annie was born in Baltimore at a time when there was little opportunity for women. Yet, her devotion to Christ led her to a life of service and leadership. She organized women to pray, to give and to meet the needs around them. She challenged pastors and churches to action and rallied vital support for missionaries. Ultimately, Annie was recognized as a national Southern Baptist trailblazer for her visionary leadership that still inspires millions today.

Sunrise Children’s Services provides care and hope for hurting families and children through Christ-centered ministries. Sunrise Children’s Services has been at the forefront in the fight to protect Kentucky’s children since 1869. Today, Sunrise is a home for children who have been abused and neglected — children whose lives have been scarred by unspeakable physical, sexual, and emotional abuse — and who have been removed from their homes.

In 1913, the Kentucky Woman's Missionary Union®, under the leadership of Eliza Broadus, established the State Missions Offering and Season of Prayer to promote and support missions within the commonwealth of Kentucky. From that time on, an annual observance of the season of prayer and offering for state missions took its place along with those for International and North American missions. In 1976, the state missions offering was renamed to what we know now as the Eliza Broadus Offering for State Missions®.

Lottie Moon was sent as a Southern Baptist missionary to China from 1873 to 1912. She saw firsthand the world’s greatest problem — LOSTNESS. Meeting so many people who had never heard the gospel compelled her to write letters to American churches describing the need for a greater missionary presence.

She pleaded for increased prayer and financial support to send and sustain more missionaries. This challenge became known as the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering®.
